Time for this board to fade away?

Before the evil Facebook took over the world this board did useful work but maybe the time has come for it to fade away?

Problems associated with it are:

• to prevent malicious software user registrations the protection has to be so strong it's almost impossible for new users to register,

• software upgrades are often irritatingly time consuming and need fault finding,

• topics being auto-deleted to prevent the database becoming enormous cause broken links on the main site which need to be fixed, and

• when a user visits a topic there's no clear path back to the main site.

So I'm proposing to make three new pages on the main site: Andrea's Beat, What's On and House Sales and sadly let this board wither away ...

After over 14 years regretfully the board will be closing midday tomorrow - thanks everyone it was fun
