su 17 Jun 2018 mud run | Yesterday's Splat Quack Go was run at the Poplar Park equestrian centre near Hollesley. The sandy soil didn't look too promising for mud runs but the wooded areas produced some suitably filthy ditches. Very creative obstacles including a web, washing line, a dinghy crossing and a brutal dip into effectively a pipe to emerge amidst footballs on the other side. Queues both for registration and some obstacles but the intention was fun not a race ... they are doing it again in September. |

sa 4 Dec 2010 | Rather like a music festival last night's Suffolk Punch Trust Christmas ball in Hollesley was inevitably running late, the cake sparklers set off the smoke alarms and not only was there a raffle but two different auctions with lots including painter Louise Harward's triptych Suffolk Trinity. Charming little presents for the guests and spectacular table flowers were just some visible signs of the organiser's extensive prep and the ball must have raised valuable funds for the trust. More pix on that there FacePack. |
