A corner near HoxneWe all know that presently developers around near the coast seem to erect an executive residence on anything no smaller than a small chicken shed.  Coming round a corner near Hoxne we were still surprised to see this.

Suffolk ConstabularyHoxne - Arrest after three arson incidents

Police have arrested a man in his 40s after three incidents of arson not endangering life in Hoxne.  The most recent incident took place in the very early hours of Friday 23 April off Green Street in the village.  Police were called at 1:00am to reports of a suspicious fire at an unused farm building.

An earlier incident took place in the very early hours of Saturday 17 April, off Low Street, near to the Swann Inn public house. Sometime between 00:45am and 1:30am it was reported that the boundary garden hedges and fencing of a property had been set alight.

The following day, Sunday 18 April, a second incident of arson was reported in the same location and took place at around the same time.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene on all three occasions and quickly extinguished the fires. Nobody was reported to have been injured in either incident.

Hoxne Christmas lightsWhen we visited Hoxne three Christmases back to see Vix and the Kicks (she does make Wilby Christmas baskets the effort) we were impressed by the public festive lights and if anything they're better this year and a couple of villages away the hanging baskets at St Mary's Wilby are still being tended and have gained seasonal decorations.

Vix of Vix and the KicksVix is a very hard working lady but the Kicks keep up with her and together at the Pre-Crimbo Bash last night in Hoxne (a Suffolk village that still has a pub and a shop) they were achieving that hardest of tasks getting people to dance.  We left before the Merry bloody Christmas!midnight finish because we didn't want the village's attractive Christmas lights to go off before we could snap them.
